Prof. Jasna Bacovska Nedic, PhD – President of IAI

Studied Law at the Faculty of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. Skopje (1994-1998) Awarded the Frank Hardcourt Manning Award for best student at the University in 1997. Master’s Studies in Communication at the Faculty of Law, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje (1999-2002). M.A. thesis: Media and Political Propaganda of Democratic Systems. Doctoral studies at the same Faculty 2005-2009, Ph.D. thesis: Application of Scientific Methods in Journalism.

Professor Jasna Bacovska Nedik is head of the Department for postgraduate studies in Media and Communications and Public Relations at the Faculty of Law at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. She is also in charge of the Student radio, non-profit media for the University.

Fields of interest: law and the sociological context, the position and influence of media in society, journalism, political propaganda, political marketing and elections, the system of “Public Relations”, gender studies problems, and especially the position of the woman in society and in politics.

Professional experience: Junior Assistant in Methodology of Law and Political Sciences and Contemporary Information Systems at the Faculty of Law in Skopje (1998-2005). Research Associate at the Centre for Strategic Research at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (from 2000). She has worked on many research projects and participated in many conferences, seminars, lectures, etc.

From 2005 Teaching Assistant of the subjects Methodology of Law and Political Sciences, and Sociology of Law at the Faculty of Law in Skopje. Member of the Balkan Contact Group founded in Ankara in June 2005 at the “Balkan Conference of Strategic and Research Centres” organized by the Centre for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

She is one of the founders of the Macedonian Institute for European Studies (MIES) and International Academic Institute (IAI).
